Hello, guys. After several months preparation, I finally got satisfactory IELTS results and I received ITA last month. However I have a very specified question here.

Before ITA, I chose that my spouse will not accompany me to Canada because her IELTS results had expired. But after I got my ITA, she resat IELTS and got her results, so I was wondering if it is possible to change from not-companying to companying. (If I chose that she will come to Canada with me, our CRS score is still higher than the criterion)

Here is the timeline of my process.
=====================================================================
Before 2019-8-19
My spouse's IELTS result was valid, I filled that she will accompany me to Canada.
CRS score is 458.

2019-8-19
My spouse's IELTS result expired.
CRS score 458-->448

But I changed that she will not accompany me.
CRS score 448-->464.

2019-8-21
I was invited to apply.
Minimal CRS score 457.

2019-9-1
My spouse got her new IELTS score, and if I add her as company,
my CRS score will change from 464 -->458.
=====================================================================

Thanks guys, I am looking forward to your help, because the days left for making a decision is quite limited.

Hi,
458 is a good score to get ITA again. I would suggest you to decline this ITA, get back in the pool and add your wife in your application.

You can add her as accompanying, As longs as your CRS points are above the CRS onthe basis of which you got the invitation, you will be fine!

Really? I was told that the IELTS my spouse got after ITA will not count.

Under section A11.2, an officer may not issue a visa to an applicant who did not or does not meet the Express Entry minimum entry criteria (MEC) or did not or does not possess the qualifications for which they received their CRS score at the time when

  • the invitation to apply (ITA) was issued; or
  • the e-APR was received by IRCC.
If you add your spouse, and if the only way to meet the CRS is based on your spouse's language test results, then you will not meet the above.

Thanks very much. So I think maybe I should go to Canada alone, and sponsor my spouse when I land.

But is it possible that I list my child as companying and my spouse not-companying.

Anyway, my child won't affect my CRS score when I was invited.

Make you sure you get paperwork done that suggests that your wife does not have any problem with your child migrating to Canada with you and has given you full custody of him/her.
