I am undergoing the same situation. I did my x-ray and they found a scar. I have been asked for sputum test. i never had any TB symptom nor i have now and i am hoping its negative or inactive.

What happens if its positive?

Don't worry, just follow what has been asked and you will be fine!

Go to the clinic, give your 3 sputum samples (3 consecutive days) and wait the looooong 60 days to receive a results. For sputum production drink plenty of liquids (specially milk) the day before the tests and sleep without a pillow.

I have researched this a lot and I can tell you that the great majority of cases come negative.

In case it comes positive, it would mean an active TB disease. You would have to go under treatment and after that provide new sputum samples. When you have them negative you would be cleared to your Visa. Anyway, don't think about that.

Best of luck to you! (I know how hard it is when you receive a furtherance letter!).

Thank you very much for your encouraging words! I don't care if it gets delayed; i just don't want a rejection as we have put in a lot of time and money.

If you need an immediate answer, then you should contact an immigration lawyer or consultant and hire them to give you immediate advice.

@scylla, it was not an immediate one even I wait it for more than 24 hours. and yeah I had already wasted a big chunk on immigration lawyers and so called consultants.

24 hours isn't very long at all. Sometimes it take take several days for the right person to see your post and respond. You definitely shouldn't be posting the same question over and over again to the forum. That's regarded as rude/inappropriate. There are very good immigration lawyers out there. So if you're not happy with the free advice here - do look into hiring a good immigration lawyer. Remember that none of us here are professionals.

is this thread still active ??

my situation is, 1st xray (found spots by IOM on 29th Nov 2017)

this was followed by sputum tests on 4/5/6 Dec 2017

after waiting for almost a month, IOM sent me to a panel lung specialist and he cleared me up from any active TB.
so my medical status in EE profile changed to, You Passed your Medical Exam, on 29th Jan 2018, IOM never called me after that so probably my sputum test results were neg as well.

However, today, they called me again, and asked me to come for repeat x-ray on 1st March 2018.

Is this normal ?? and why do i need to re appear for 2nd xray when everything was cleared up already ??

They're asking for the second x-ray to confirm everything is normal.

They can only tell so much with tests so either something borderline may have cme out in your sputum. They are looking for any change in your x-rays which will show of there has been any changes without an invasive test.

Sorry about my mistake, I just re checked the documents given to me by IOM on 29th Nov, and 2nd xray date (1st March 2018) is already mentioned on it, so I guess they now need to check whether any change occurred in those 3 months, however, my concern is that why my medical status is still showing up as "Passed" in my EE profile.
