Would I be denied entry if I 100% told the truth to the Customs agent at the Toronto Airport I will be arriving days prior to my wedding that I was coming visting my fiancee to be married? I'd have proof of returning home after my two week trip there. Return ticket, and the fact I'll be going home to work again and all that while I apply for outland but.. I'm nervous to get denied. Should I just say that I'm just visiting or tell them the truth?

If I were you I wouldn't say this at the airport.

You could say that you are just a tourist and visiting Toronto and go back to your country in 2 weeks.

I had almost the same situation as you with the only difference that I stayed in Canada and applied inland (I did have a return ticket which I didn't end up using). I was very very anxious too about the interview at the Border!! I was sticking the rule that if they don't ask, I don't tell! Reason for your visit? - Visiting my fiance! Do you have a return ticket? - Yes, I do, for DDMM. That's it, keep it very simple, don't mention anything unless they ask you (Of course, if they ask you whether you are going to get married you shouldn't lie, but they never ask about that!).

If you say you're visiting your fiancee and they ask you when you're getting married I would say that you haven't set a date yet. (Hopefully that's also the truth and you're going to wing it and don't know if you'll get married on Wednesday or Thursday haha).

I was also very nervous about the border interview when I came from the US to marry in Canada. I said that I was coming to get married and it was an easier interview than the other times! They let me in with no problems.

If you can avoid the question directly do it ... but even if you tell them you should be fine. The border agent just to have reasonable belief that you will return to your country and not stay on after past your visitor visa. So if you are honest, they should hopefully believe you.

You might feel more nervous lying to them than simply saying "im getting married. and Im going in an out. Returning home after."

Do you have a tux in your baggage?

EkkusuXI: Did you mention that you would be getting married on your application? I'm curious as I am waiting for my fiance who can hopefully receive his TRV so we can get married.

Very sorry for the late reply but no, we haven't submitted our application as of yet, were waiting for the wedding and the marriage cert before we do.

As of having a tux in my baggage no I don't the only thing Ill have in my carry on is our wedding bands so hopefully I won't need any extra searches or anything but if they ask I wont lie

EkkusuXI: I'm sorry, I think I'm confused. Do you have a TRV already? If not, how will you have the wedding in Canada without the TRV? Sorry if I'm missing something. I'm trying to find other people who are looking on getting married in Canada and then leaving on a TRV.

cinc i think he's from visa exempt country or he might have already his trv with multiple entries; his question is abt being let in at the border so i assume he has some kind of visa already (or maybe no need of visa at all) :)

Tell the TRUTH and show proof of your return home. Omitting some of the truth is considered lying by ommission and it IS covered in the Act and Regulations under misrepresentation. CBSA is not going to try to stop your wedding. Their only concern is that you will overstay but a return ticket and a letter from your employer advising that you are still employed and on vacation for the next couple of weeks will be sufficient.
