Will French Stay Relevant after 1 Year ?

Hi everyone,

With recent Express Entry draws and category-based selection, I wanted to get opinions from experienced members here.

Do you think French language proficiency will remain an important factor for Express Entry over the next 1 year? Especially in terms of category-based draws or additional CRS points.

I’m considering whether it’s still worth investing time in improving French, so any insights or recent trends would be really helpful.

Read the government's 3 year immigration plan that was just published to see that French is its own category draw.

Realistically nothing is 100% but learning French should help you to get PR if you can reach CLB7. It certainly won’t hurt your chances but you should also be evaluating all pathways to PR and trying to put yourself in the best position to get selected. Learning French is just one thing you should be considering and doing.
