I have a related question . . .

If wife is pregnant and we land in canada - we get SIN card first, while waiting for PR card suppose we deliver baby -- are we eligible for free of cost healthcare including doctor fees, hospital room, medicines etc ?

In other words is having a delivery totally free with a SIN card in Canada ?

Thanks

In Alberta it is free after landing. U will got your SIN after landing during 2-3 weeks.

First of all with due respect ,I would like to humbly request members like kg_bang to kindly not to spread unauthentic information and refrain from giving advice/information to any one when they are not 100% sure.

@ Ssaud , bro! nothing to worry at all your case is absolutely fine. One need to inform VO ONLY when there is a change in family composition(such as a newone is born or god forbid there is a death of a family member) and as your child is still not born so you are fine. You just try to land as soon as possible for the safe journey of your wife and baby. There could be a problem ONLY if your child is born BEFORE you land in Canada, in that case you need to inform VO about it ,add your baby in your application so that your visa officer could issue new meds forms for all your family but as its a lengthy ,time consuming and risky process so try to land ASAP.

All the best!

Go to Canada before child birth. If you get baby before landing then things will be complicated. Land in Alberta. Get your baby born there and then you can return if u want. Even you want baby in India. Then also do your landing before that .

Best is to fly and land Alberta before start of 32 week of your wife maternity, take cert from your GP or Midwife that she fit to fly.
Check with airlines. As every airlines policy differ. For pregnant passenger after 30 week, but some allow to travel upto 34 weeks .

Can u advise if medical insurance will cover maternity related costs as well ?

Also which travel insurances are recommended or can work in Canada - some choices in Pakistan are UIC, AIG etc
