Hello everyone, I hope you’re staying safe during this COVID situation.
Well my wife got biometrics request on feb.26 2020 and in 2 days we got medical request. Both submitted and approved as of March 6, 2020. But then after no progress in the file. I am PR in Canada. Wife suppose to get passport request after that. Till date we haven’t received any update. Does anyone know what could be the reason besides this Covid situation ? Or does anyone here who is going through the same situation ?

Thanks for your suggestions !

There are many steps between medical and biometrics and PPR. That is why approval typically takes around a year. There will be delays because of covid. So would plan on receiving COPR in a year or longer. You may get lucky and get it slightly earlier than 1 year but wouldn’t count on this.

Thanks for the reply. Can GC notes provide more details or ideas ?

No real point at this time. Likely nothing has happened since you submitted medical and biometric. Most processing basically stopped around that time. after medical and biometric there are months where people don’t hear from CIC during security and criminality processing. Plan on the processing taking on around 1 year. Could be a bit more due to covid. If your application is pretty straight forward and your spouse is from US, Europe, Australia, NZ it may take around a year. Usually takes a but less but with covid expect delays. You can apply for GCMS notes but there will be nothing to see at this point. There isn’t much to see even when you order it unless you are experiencing unusual delays. You can essentially see what has been done online at this point. If you really want to apply for GCMS notes wait 5-6 months after government has returned back to work in their offices.
