Hi everyone,

Missed you all (I have been coming around. I just was not posting)

So, I do have an update. I got my mail today (in the afternoon) and I just dumped it on my kitchen counter. This evening, I was about to go and throw the junk mail away, when I noticed a letter from the Canadian Consulate in Buffalo, tucked in within the junk mail. Thank God I saw it. Phew .

Any way the letter I received was dated 10/29/2010 and it states that:

1. Buffalo has completed an initial assessment of my application.
2. Buffalo expects to finalize my application without an interview
3. Buffalo has recieved my Medical results
4. Buffalo does not require additional documents from me; and
5. I should pay my Right of Permanent Resident Fee (RPRF) if I have not already done so.

Here's my application information and timeline:

Category........: AINP
Visa Office......: Buffalo
NOC Code......: 2173
AINP App. Filed.....: 03-16-2009
Doc's Request.: 15-12-2009
Nomination.....: Dated 01-07-2010 (Received certificate on 03/05/2010)
CIC App. Filed.......:03-09-2010
AOR Received.: 06-28-2010
Med's Request: 06-28-2010
Med's Done....: 06-30-2010
Med's Reached Ottawa....: 07/07/2010
Request 4 RPRF....:11/03/2010

Take care everyone and I pray God grants each and everyone of us our dreams for 2010.

God bless
Jovan

oh, i hope your words will come true :) PR visa is all i want for Christmas ;D

hi! friends,

i really want to take a break, not checking the status, not focusing on the approval for a while. But it seems that it always occupies my mind..
whenever I turn on the computer, i can't stop visiting this web to get more info, or checking my mail box, e-mail..
though we are in canada already, we really want to get a PR status for security. it seems that my file is pending while seeing more people here get file transferred or PPR, or status update. how can i release this concern??

i have a question.... I have to pay RPRF before PPR or they can request me both together.

Should i pay first??

if you are a provincial nominee, you have the option to pay anytime during the application process. anyway, if you get PPR i believe they usually mention that you need to pay the RPRF before they will issue the PR visa.

hi 4mfamily,

i totally understand what you're feeling and can relate. from time to time, i stay away from this forum and now only check e-cas every tuesday. what i do is get out of the house because once I see the computer, I automatically check this forum, my husband's email and e-cas. I take my daughter out, to eat or just walk around. Also, I keep reassuring myself that it's only a matter of time now, we're at the last stages so we might as well be positive.

best of luck. we'll get that PR visa soon. :D

Hello 4mfamily, Most of us are in same shoes as you are, clinging to a hope of hearing from CIC. Any immigration process is frustrating. Every case is handled differently and some of us find that process unfair. One member received PPR a month after the medicals. I thought, I would be next to receive PPR. Well, I am still waiting. As you said that you want a sense of security. That is exactly what we all are looking for. Security of living our life as we want to live. I have been in US for last 11 years. Still getting a permanent status is years away. Right now I am waiting eagerly to move to Canada ASAP. There is nothing I can do but wait. I check this forum many times a day. We share our experiences here and in those experiences someone gets a hope and gets us going. I have a hope that I would receive PPR one day. I am sure you also have that hope. Any wait is frustrating, and in these frustrating movements, we are here for each other, even though, we do not each other. We are in this journey tother. :)

jxyj01, your message did encourage me! Thanks, at least i have a lot of people understand our feeling here. sometimes, my friends are wondering why I keep askng it as we are already in canada, but they don't know there's difference between having the work permit only or PR, though we can still get the child benefit, medical and free public school. I cannot study if I don't have PR. So..

you are right, some people can get PPR one month after medical, and mine is coming to 4 months..
so sometimes i try to make cake, breads at home in order to occupy my time, not focus on this approval ..haha
