sent to buffalo for status and got below boring answer
===================================

Your application is in process. We are unable to provide a date when the processing of your application will be complete

we got a reply from buffalo today, it says -

We have received the results of your medical exam.

Your application is in process. We are unable to provide a date when the processing of your application will be complete.

standard reply as usual, but at least i know that they have our medicals already.

starting to be inpatient everyday...don't know why Buffalo takes so long time to proceed with the files.
:'(

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Just received our VISAs this afternoon. Praise the LORD!

i can understand your situations, as I have experienced separation with my hubby last year for 10 months due to the late approval of my work permit. But why can't you go with your hubby at the same time ?

at first, we did not know that we can apply for visitor visa when our nomination was approved. now that we know that we can, we are a bit confused on how to go aobut it since my daughter is already in school. we're not sure if she will be allowed to study in Canada if we are on a Temporary visa plus the processing time for the work permit and temporary visas may take longer than the process of getting the PR visa since we're waiting for passport request already.

so it took you 10 months to get a work permit and temporary visa?

but i mean if your hubsand applied the work permit or PR including your name, you should have been able to follow him at the same time?

my situation was- my hubsand got job offer here and I had another application for my work permit, but i was pregnant so I was unable to undergo the x-ray chest , my hubby's work permit was approved in Sept 2008, at that time, I could have the x-ray check after my baby born in Oct 2008, but i found i had the inactive TB so I cannot get the approval unless i did the treatment; actually it was the scar on my lung that I never felt sick, i got the TB but since my immune system was good that I won't feel sick, it was inactive in my body, won't transfer to others.

so I took 6 months treatment and stayed at my home country with my kids ....

after my treatment was done & i got all the medical check again in oct 2009, we followed my hubby to Canada though my work permit was not yet approved, we came here under normal visitors( we got work permit approval in Feb 2010), so i can stay here under wp, my kids can study here without paying since we have work permit.

in your case, why don't you join with your hubby now, you can stay in canada for maxi 1/2 year, then you can get the PR during the waiting time in canada, you won't separate with your hubby.

thank you so much for the info, i will discuss this with my husband today and may be we can start the process. there's no pint in staying apart if we can all be together in Canada already. plus, he's already renting a whole apartment on his own...which can be a waste since he's the only one living there.
thanks again, i hope we get our ppr's soon. if not, my daughter and I will go as visitors. :)
