Who is "family members"?

I will be applying for PR under FSW. At the moment I don't have job yet but have lots of saving funds

Would like to know whether applying to come alone is easier and processed faster OR applying to come together with me and my aging parents is processed faster? I am a bit concerned that applying for my parents after obtaining a job would take longer. Which is which and what is what, please advice...

Am I eligible to apply for my parents right after getting my work permit OR after working for one year at least?


Please advise me on "Non-accompanying family members declaration" in PR application under FSW.

1. Who is considered as "family members"?
2.In the context of Canada immigration ,are my healthy independent parents considered family members?
3. I would like to apply to come alone first, should I prepare the above declaration to state I will proceed the application without my aging parents
or I only have to do so if my spouse, common law partner or dependent children are not coming with me ...pls advice as I am confuse.

Family members that can be included in application are
Spouse/Common law partner
Dependent Children
Children of Dependent children

Parents are additional family and will be declared in additional family info form and can not be part of immigration application. Once you establish yourself in Canada and prove that you can economically support them then you can sponser them and it will take about 3 years for their approval check the time lines at following link
