Hi Senior members,

My initial Work Permit was approved based on LMO application for NOC code 2171, then the subsequent extension was approved through ICT (current WP) for NOC code 2173.

Dec, 2010 to Jul, 2012 - LMO based WP, NOC code 2171
Aug, 2012 to till date - ICT WP, NOC code 2173

Which of these categories does <> job fall under for my first WP (NOC code 2171)? WP & LMIA or WP & LMIA not required.

Thanks in advance

"LMO" is the old name for "LMIA". So your first position is WP & LMIA.

Thanks jes_ON.

I have mentioned the job category as "WP & LMIA not required" when I applied for the Permanent residency (EE application).

I got ITA recently. Will it be a problem if I update this information now?

No, not a problem to correct it; more of a problem to not correct it : ) Just include a LOE about your confusion over the correct response.

Hello , I have a post grad work permit in Canada. I have 9 more months of work permit valid. I applied for LMIA and I received it in September, 2018 for my physiotherapy assistant job. I was wondering what I have to answer for this question as my post grad work permit is till valid and I applied for LMIA after one year of my working at my job. so what I have to answer for this question?

Which of these categories does Kajal Saini's job fall under?

1. no work permit required
2. work permit required but no lmia
3. work permit and Lima required.

please let me know ASAP.thank you.

Hi, I am an intracompany transferee and came with a work permit.
so I exempted from LMIA.
In filling EE: Which one is suitable for me from the below question? WP&LMIA required or WP&LMIA not required?
"Which of these categories does <name> job fall under? "
Thanks for the help!

Hi,

I have the same question as the original poster, but for Spouse on Open Work Permit. My spouse is working for a US employer and they do not have an office here in Canada. In such a case, what option should we select? Her job belongs closely to NOC code "2283 - Information systems testing technicians".

a. Work Permit required, no LMIA required
b. Work Permit and LMIA required

Appreciate your response!

Thanks!
