Interesting 2 Cases like this one. I have selected London for now. Even if it goes to New Delhi, we will have to deal with it. I hear New Delhi Timelines are better than London.

This is most likely an isolated case where the VO at CPC-M simply made a mistake. In the majority of cases, the application should be sent to the visa office the applicant specifies (assuming they qualify).

Perhaps it's good to explain in a cover letter the visa office selected, and why they are selecting it. Especially if it's different from their citizenship/passport country.

Hi Rob,

Can you please explain? I don't quite understand what is meant by isolated case. Can I still do something about it?

Thanks

I meant that CPC-M is supposed to check what outland visa office you have selected on the application for processing. As long as you meet the requirements for that office (by being a resident there for min 1 year, or hold citizenship there), then they should simply send your application to the office you want. And in almost all cases, this is what they do.

So in your case and the others who have experienced this, it sounds to me like CPC-M simply made a mistake and didn't actually check where you wanted the application sent. They simply checked the applicant's citizenship, and sent it to that office. Could be a human error, or clerical error, i'm not sure.

You could try to correct the mistake by calling or sending a case-specific email to CPC-M or to Nairobi office, telling them they've made a mistake and asking them to follow your choice of visa office and forward on your application to Cairo. Perhaps even include a copy of the application form where you selected Cairo. However this could cause further delays, and in the end there are no guarantees CIC actually does anything here, and you may simply have to deal with Nairobi office now.
