I am applying to sponsor my wife who is currently in Canada as a temporary resident. The government web site ( cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=345&t=14 ) says completed forms are supposed to be mailed to CPC Mississauga, ON. As per the Document Checklist they are to be mailed to CPC Vegreville, AB. I am confused.

Also, which immigration office should be requested for processing the application (Box 4, Generic Application Form for Canada). We were told to use CPC Mississauga. Now I am not sure. We reside in BC.

Help please!

That depends. If you apply through outland, then mail to Mississauga; if inland, mail to Vegreville.
Hope that helps.

Thank you bo12 for the explanation!

Risking to sound stupid, one more question: Does it mean that we should indicate Vegreville as the CPC that we wish to be processing our application?

if you're applying inland ( using the inland forms etc) then use CPC Vegreville.
If you are applying outland ( you can still be in Canada and use the outland forms) then send it to mississauga, and choose the visa office corresponding to your nationality or your residence as the "outland vo".
GOod luck,
