Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
I received the letter of introduction. When I arrive in Canada, what questions immigration officers ask you? Can entry be denied? Anyone heard any stories about a friend getting denied at airport?

Thank you for any comments in advance.

Good topic, looking forward to seeing what replied you get

my experience..

aftr landin i went to 1st officer, whr he checked immigration form(it is given in flight before landing to every1) & marked it with colored markers & asked me to go through immigration check. there i submited it, he gave me a study permit as well as work permit and thats the end of formalities. collected my baggage & left.

yes, i got 1 introduction paper with my pasport from cic. bt i dint take it along. they dint deny me.

Does the immigration form have questions on previous employment details etc...or is it just simple questions?
& can we enter the country 1 month before course commencement date?
My course commences on Sept 3rd,but I'm planning to travel on Aug 1st.

Yes you can enter.

Extremely basic questions, like where you gonna study, length of program, which field and that's about it.

When I landed, the officer asked me about the length of the program and why did I select Canada for my studies.

I know that this is out of the topic but may I know how long did it take for you to get your letter of introduction after you finished your medical?
Thanks!

may I know what was your reply for,'why did you select Canada?' ?
I'm going to pursue PG certificate for 2 semesters(Sept-May->9 mnths),so should I say 9 months or 1yr if I'm asked about the length of the pgm?

oh k..& do they ask for financial proof? like for accommodation, personal expenditure ..etc... I have already paid residence fees for 1 term. Do I have to show proof for the remaining fees?

I also heard that some were asked if they will leave Canada after their studies.
It's obvious that even if intl students don't intend to settle down there, almost all apply for the PGWP.
I know that the standard answer would be be to tell 'yes',but has anyone been quizzed or heard of someone been quizzed further out of suspicion?
I kindly request you to share your experience.
These information can help all of us from avoiding unnecessary problems with the immigration officers.
Even if we have genuine intentions,it's always better to proceed with caution.
Cheers!

You got your work permit at the port of entry? I thought they allow to work after 6 months of studying. Please clear my confusion. Thanks

Hi. I did not have medical. My country of citizenship does not need to do medical.

You can Land in CANADA before 45 DAYS from your course starting date. Otherwise sometime they have denied.. And Immigration Officers only ask if they have doubt.. OTHERWISE nothing..!1
