When can you qualify for permanent residence/citizenship?

Hi guys. I'm going to be moving to Vancouver this October for 1-2 years on the working holiday scheme and I have a few questions.

I'm thinking very long-term here but if I did want to stay in Canada for longer, maybe much longer, what criteria would i need to fulfil? I expect to need sponsorship from an Employer or marry a Canadian citizen but i'd like clarification.

You must become a PR before you can apply for citizenship.

When you qualify to apply for PR depends on when you can meet the critieria to apply for one of Canada's immigration programs. See the link below for information about these programs.
