Hello,

I have been living in Ontario since September 2017. I haven't left Canada since arriving.

I am currently on a Post Graduation Work Permit Program, valid until September 2022.

My current job is provisioning and customer support at a telecommunication company, which I started end of June 2020.

Employer pays benefits and it's an Ontario based company.

I have already got my foreign university degree assessed and certified by WES, and according to WES they sent the certification straight to the visa office.

My understanding so far has been that I would be able to apply for Permanent Residency after 1 year of continuous work at this job.

Does this mean that I would be eligible for Permanent Residency by end of June 2021 (which is exactly 1 year after starting this work)?

Also, I would like to ask for your expert advice on when I could start the application process, please.

Thank you very much for reading my post and I look forward to hearing from you.

You can apply at any time if you qualify.

Different immigration programs have different requirements.

If you want to apply through CEC, then yes, you would need to wait until you have one year of full time experience in Canada in a skilled role (NOC A, B or 0).

If you have a full year of skilled work experience form outside of Canada, then you may qualify to apply through FSW/Express Entry now.

Just to add - you will need to make sure the job you have is classified as skill level A, B or 0 if you want to apply through CEC. Many customer support roles are skill level C and do not qualify under this program.

Good morning, Thank you very much for your reply.

I will do some research and see if my job as in Telecommunication Provisioning counts as NOC A, B or 0.
