When can I extend the duration of work permit?

Hi,

I recently graduated from a college and my program is 2 years. The CIC gave me less than 3 years work permit based on my passport's expiry date (as a visitor) which is 2023.9.24. When I can I renew my passport and extend the duration my PGWP? Can I renew my passport now? Thanks!
