What would happen if I did not surrender my off campus work permit after 2years

Hey, everyone, I did not surrender my off campus work permit when I graduated from university, I did not realize that until last week when I got the Gcms note from my immigration application... It says on my note that I am non-comply by failing surrender my work permit after leaving school? Therefore, I tried to surrender it last week to local cic... I don't know what would that bring it to me... So worry... Anyone knew? Would they make note on my off campus work permit ? Can anyone help me with that ?

I don't understand why they would want you to surrender it when you graduated? I thought students who finish their program can continue working on the off-campus work permit(valid for the length of their study permit) until they receive their post-graduate work permit?

that is why i understood as well..... but i have no idea...~~~ i wrote an explanation letter for my local cic office to explain the situation, i am afraid that would make my case worse as my lawyer told me not to do anything until they ask...but i sent it before he told me so....but i only send to the local cic office not the ottawa one, which review my immigrant case.... so i am wonder whether they would update my information ???

Well, do well to inform your lawyer that you sent a letter. Other than that, just wait it out. The officer could have been wrong.
