Hello,

I have asked this question before but nobody could help.

I would also like to mention that I have searched over and over for an answer in the old topics but it seems that nobody gave an exact helpful reply.

Today finally I got my study permit extended. It will expire on 31/08/2017, which is extremely sufficient for my study period ( I have got 2 semesters left ).

However, my current passport expires on 01/11/2017, we are still far away but I'm actually in my home country and thinking about renewing it so that I can be ready for any document in the future ( PGWP or CSQ ).

My question is, when I come back to Canada at the end of this month, at the airport to be precise, will I face problems when they see that I have a new passport while on my new SP I have my old passport number mentioned ? Will they ask me to renew my study permit using my new passport ? Or it will be okay?

Share your opinion.

No. Just carry both passports with you when you travel. As long as your passport with the study permit is valid, you'll be fine

Thank you for your kind reply.

My current passport which I used to extend my study permit will be CANCELLED once I get a new passport.

If I carry both passports with me ( which is what I will do since my TRV is still valid on my current passport ), will it be okay?

Yup! Even if it's cancelled. Your visa is STILL valid. Carry both passports with you and you'll be fine! Don't worry
