Hi all,
there are 2 types of marriage certificate
- Small certificate- contains the name of both parties to the marriage, date, place, registration number, registration date, date issue.
- Large certificate - contains the same information as the small certificate above plus birthplace of both parties, province/country only)

so im wondering which one do I need for the inland sponsorship and also do I need to send the original marriage certificate or the certified photocopy of marriage certificate or the certified photocopy of the original registration of marriage ? thank you!

The spousal sponsorship checklist did not specify if small or large.......you are only required to provide your marriage certificate or other proof that your marriage is legally registered with governmental authorities in the jurisdiction where it took place. A record of solemnization or marriage license is not acceptable.

The marriage certificate document you submit must show that the marriage was legally registered with the government where it took place.

Will advice if possible to provide the large certificate as it shows more information.

You need to also check the country specific requirements to see if there are specific instructions for the country where the marriage took place.
