Should I just dispose this fat piece of paper from my passport now that I have the PR card? It was stapled in my passport by the IO and now the staple has come off. But I think I don’t need to staple it back in since I have my PR card already.

Do we need to return it to immigration by any chance??

Oh man... Keep it safe. You need it in future for few things. I had disposed all of ours after reading an online thread, later I had to reapply for our entire family and pay for it ,lol !

Also, don't laminate it or do anything else that would change it. Safety deposit at your bank would be great idea.

You will need it if you apply for citizenship and your pension in the future. It is quite important.

I didn't realize how important when I landed. I just folded it up and threw it in a shoe box for "miscellaneous" documents. I didn't realize the importance until I was applying for citizenship and was relieved that i still had it in the box.

Weird.. I just thought it’s a temporary document until we get our PR card.
