What to do with an overqualified CRS score for OINP HCP?

Hello all! I'm a newbie in EE and got a CRS score of 470 through taking IELTS. As an experienced software engineer, OINP seems to be the best way to get a PR without any Canadian experience. However, in the last Ontario tech draw issued on Feb. 8, I was frustrated to learn that there is a high score cut-off set at 467. I'm in such a dilemma where no draws for FSW have been issued since 2021 and my scoring will be decreased due to aging in 2023. But nobody knows what will happen then.

What shall I do?

1. Take another IELTS where I deliberately have a lower score in order to be in the selection range. (It sounds ridiculous but will allow chances for OINP selection)
2. Just stay patient with the current language test score that will expire in 2024. (Unexpected policy change could happen)

Hope anybody facing the same situation could join the discussion and any advice is appreciated!

You can take another IELTS exam and try to fit in CRS targetted by ONTARIO. No harm in it.

Thanks for your reply. If I update my profile or file a new application, how long will it take for the profile to take effect? I don't want to miss any draws :(

I feel you, I am in the same situation with 476, if I don't include my spouse's IELTS we have 456, which was enough for last draw, but not for Feb 8. Trying to figure out my options with either me or spouse taking a lower score IELTS, which sounds ridiculous.

I have updated my profile multiple times, and it usually takes effect within couple minutes
