Hi,

I got a Passport Request last Tuesday and submitted them the next day (yesterday) to VFS Manila. Is there a link/forum on what to do next??

I assume PPT almost translates to a Visa Approval but still have a hard time researching on this part. Intend to migrate in 6-7 mo. time instead of the moment I get the visa as I noticed in this forum (would spend the 6 mos. for office turnover, travelling, packing up, research, etc.).

3.11.2015 SINP Application Completed

Prepare for your new life in Canada :) You will receive your passport back together with the Confirmation of Permanent Residence (CoPR) piece of paper. The latter will tell you the last date you are allowed to land in Canada (in general, it is the date your medical expire). Make sure you land BEFORE that date, there are absolutely no exceptions allowed. So, once you get your passport back with your immigrant visa, start preparing your departure to Canada.

Here is an extremely useful link that clarifies what "landing in Canada" actually refers to.

I believe the expiry of the visa is 1 year after the medical. (not sure)
I got my visa Nov 2009 and I landed July 2010, I resigned on my job April 2010 to get more provident fund ;),
then spent time travelling after.
I think you have to do PDOS at CFO, you will receive a lot of papers with the passport/visa, to help you prepare for your new life in Canada ;)

Yes, PDOS is now required for all departing immigrants and OFWs, the IO in the Philippines will not let you board without the PDOS sticker in your passport.

You can also attend the CIIP/COA seminars.

Thanks all esp. on the expiration part.

More questions...
1.) Is it possible to travel to Canada for several short stay before 'migrating for good'? My reasons would be to research the intended place of stay (I won't be brigning everything along in these trips) and for leisure purposes (if I read it right in the CIC website, I would have to renounce the PR in this situation).

2.) How long should I stay in the province of nomination?
