What should I do when I received Job offer from my company?

Hi,
I am currently work in US, but my visa and work permit in US about to expire soon. Fortunately, my company has brand in Canada, and I will be transfer to Canada to work. I am just waiting for job offer. It is really fast for me so I dont have time to prepare for the move include visa or immigration. btw, I am 42 years old so it will take me a bit of time to research on this forum, so I just want to ask any one who have experience, pls help me.

My purpose is to get visa/work permit or permanent resident, which one is faster, which one is less paper work.
and what are documents needed? etc.

I will go back my country to do requested docs such as criminal records/ apply visa, I can do Ielts exam but it will tough for me as I am old! I will keep searching on that forum , thank you to help me.

Work permit is faster and less paperwork.

Is your employer obtaining an approved LMIA or are they applying for your work permit under ICT?

PR may or may not be possible for you. Either way, it's a much longer and more involved process.

I have experience to do work permit in US, every year can not work for 3 months. I need to be tin Canada no later than Sep 2022, as you advice will do Visa and Work Permit. However, for long term, I need to PR to work consistently. Do you know how long to get visa and work permit?

Worry about the work permit first. Don't focus on PR right now. PR may or may not be possible for you based on your age.

If the company is not applying for you and you have to apply for the work permit yourself, then your company needs to get an approved LMIA before you can apply for the work permit. Getting an approved LMIA normally takes many months and this is something your employer needs to do (you cannot do it yourself).

The LMIA is the first step. If the employer cannot get an approved LMIA, then you cannot apply for the work permit. You are short on time to get a work permit approved by September 2022. Hopefully your employer has already started the process of applying for the LMIA. You need to ask them that question and verify.
