We received the papers for the medicals and would like to know what comes next.

Also, we are from a non-English speaking country and did not take the IELTS test. Up till now we were not requested to send this in. Is it possible that they might still request us to do so?

1. Unusual that the didn't ask for IELTS, it is still possible that it may be requested, but unlikely.
2. Your in the home stretch, since medicals have been requested, the background checks are processing along after the positive IA, so depending on the office, and nothing arrises in the medicals/background, hopefully you will have a passport request in 3/4 months.
