What is the validity of an immigrant for a dependent child?

I am referring to a dependent child application.
How long would the permanent resident visa be valid from the time it has been issued by the visa Office?
In other words, when does the child has to enter Canada before the visa expired.

1, 1 year from the date of the medial or expiry of the passport, whichever comes first.
