there is never minimum score in Ielts ....as much u score will fetch u more marks for language .....which inturn will get u good marks for the PER

It will be announce next week but will be like what is happening in other countries btw 6.5-7.00 in all the four areas

The proposals for FSW in 2013 from tweets by Minister Kenney indicate there will be a minimum language score.
Probably in the region of 6.5 to 7.0 band score

Good move IMO, language is probably the single biggest reason why immigrants struggle to secure work once they have landed.
I'd actually make all the applicants take the test, not just the principal applicant, but its a move in the right direction I think.

The rules have not been announced officially and until they are, nobody knows for sure.
We've seen tweets and news articles and proposals and hints, but nothing completely concrete.

The CIC website currently says "This is a temporary pause on new applications until the revised program selection criteria take effect, currently targeted for early 2013. More information will be available in the coming months."


So people may be speculating over the minimum score but I do not think it is set in stone yet.

this is really very confusing and frustating situation.

From different websites and bloggs you will get the information that it will be minimum 7 Canadian Language Bench mark, but on CIC website, nothing is there !!!

Atlease CIC must frame out the rules and minimum threasholds for the immigration process in advance so that across the globe, everyone will get sufficient time to be ready at the time of immigration.

In my case, I am having 6.5 bands score in IELTS, I donot know how it will turn out [speaking 7, listening 7, reading and writing: 6].

Either English or French is acceptable as first language.

Therefore you can provide test results in French for your first language, and IELTS results to claim up to 4 points for 2nd language (English). I believe in the forms you'll complete for your application, you will declare whether French or English is your first language.
