What is meant by continuous work experience ?

Hello everyone,
I was just wondering what does continuous work experience mean?!! As i did work in 2 work places with the sum of 3 year years under the same NOC with a gap in between (Each was for more than a year). so does it mean that i can claim the experience point for just 1 year or i can claim it for 3 years ?

So if I change employer during the year (lets say I work for 5 months for one company, then I get better offer from other company and I change jobs and work for another 7 months) would that count as 1 year of continuous experience or not?

If you resign from old job and join the new company in the same month, system will give you the points for 1 complete year. for example even if you take a leave for 7 days and join in the same month, you will get points for 1 year.

It is because we can enter only months in the system, not date. But I am not sure how CIC will consider this situation when they will come to know the exact date. For me I resigned my old job in December 12 and joined new job in December 15. Dec 13 and Dec 14 were weekends in Canada. I got the full points for 1 year.

Did your both jobs had same title? I am wondering what would happen if the new job has different title (do they have to be same NOC to be considered continuous)?

I am not sure about title but NOC has to be same for sure. My NOC is same 2171 but the title is different. Interestingly my responsibilities are same because i was hired permanently by the same same company I was working for. I was working as a contractor then got hired. Both my manager issued the reference letter with the same responsibilities. Lets see how it goes. eagerly waiting for the next draw. good luck to you.

Still this is not clear for me!!! i mean if i have a long gap between my 2 employments , and the sum of them is 3 years under the same NOC .. i'm just gonna be able to claim just one of them and not the sum of 3 years as they r not contentious?!!!

I am on a same position. I have 2 breaks between 3 different jobs with Same NOC code but different Titles. I am doing work for almost 17 months (2150 Hours). Do I eligible to claim 40 points of Canadian Experience in EE profile. I know that I am eligible for CEC in pool but shall I get 40 points for Work Experience or NOT ??

Is this a continuous work experience. I have entered in Express entry and my CRS score is 444.

Will my application get rejected at a later stage?

I have my other work experience for continous 2.8 years in same company but in NOC code C.

There is a break in continuity so it will depend on the processing officer to decide whether your experience meets the continuity criteria or not.

I got 3 rejections for visitor visa and one for student visa, in my student visa application the consultant filled the wrong information about my work and after getting caips notes , visa officer mentioned this thing.
So I am confused now that what should I mention in my express entry profile, does this thing will effect my profile negatively?

Yes, it can be considered as employment. If they provide reference letter mentioning 40 hours per week of work.

Please asses my situation . I am currently working as a front end dev as a contractor in a pretty big company in Texas.
I have been on the same position for around a year and half and still there currently .
But, I have changed my contracting firm. There was no breaks in my employment at the client, just contracting agency switch. Same position though at the client. Does this still qualify as continuous employment? I have client letter for two years which I used for applying my h1 this year and last year.
