Hi friends,
My wife wants to take language assessment test from center for canadian language. But they need a letter from cic saying that my application was initially approved. I dont understand what they need. did any one of you get a similar letter earlier.

These are the eligibility points mentioned in language.ca

• A work permit holder with a letter from CIC confirming initial approval
for permanent residence
• A work permit holder with “Initial Approval of PR” on the permit (or
similar wording)

Thanks,
Raju.

May be they are referring to the AOR.
Thanks,

Why does she want to take the language test?

If she wants to take a language test to support a Permanent Residency application to Canada, then she should be taking the exam with either CELPIP or IELTS. Neither of those would require 'initial approval', which is the Acknowledge of Receipt (AOR).

just guessing - is the OP in Ontario? Perhaps she wants the free language assessment that is used for placement into newcomer language classes -

To be eligible for the free assessment, the applicant needs to be a PR or have "approved in principal" status - in the case of CEC applicants, the AOR is "approval in principal."

I know this is an old topic,

I'm CEC with spouse. I have received the AOR and my wife would like to study English. The AOR only mentioned my name. In this case how can I show them her AOR ???

Thanks,
