I was trying to fill citizenship application for my wife, and they are asking for PCC (Police Clearance Certificate) from India as she went for a vacation in India for 6 months. And while I was applying for PCC in BLS India application, they are asking for a file number along with passport details. I have no idea what this file number means. Can anyone help me with it?

Its back of your Indian passport. At the last page of your passport where there is your home address and parents information.
