what happens when BOWP arrives but I'm out of country

Hi

I applied BOWP in early May and my current WP is expiring late July. According to the current timeline, my BOWP should arrive round mid-July. Just wonder if I go back to my home country for 1.5 months, and return just before my current WP expires, will it be a problem? what happens when BOWP arrives but I'm out of country?

I am from a visa free country, what if I return to Canada after my current WP expired, can I enter as a visitor and "activate" the BOWP when I get it on paper?

please advise.

I remember one of my friend went to Pakistan and in qatar on way back he realized that his study permit is not with him but he forgot in Pakistan.....

When he reached Montreal he told the immigration guys and they checked with his UCI and then printed out study permit for him

CBSA have access to all the immigration stuff and from UCI then can check u have BOWP , so it should not be any issue provided you have BOWP already issued , just make sure BOWP is approved before you travel

The processing timeline of BOWP is getting longer and longer, I don't think I can wait till it's approved.

So the safe bet is still return to Canada before current WP expires...?
