What happens if you miss the landing date when residing outside of Canada?

What happens when you dont land in Canada by the date it is given by?

Do they cancel the application? or have to re-do something?

If you contacted them and explained why you couldn't land in time due to COVID-19, then you could get an extension. If not, then all I can say is they give you a date for a reason.
