What happens after you mail your package? when will one Hear back with updates..

Hi there, after one mails out his / her package, what happens next?

will some1 call me from the case processing center aknowledging that the package has been received?

or is the initial contact made via post mail after a month or so?

is there anyway to see whats going on after 10 days Of mailing package?

I had my first contact back via a letter nearly 8 weeks later . In the mean time ended up sending a few e-mails to the local visa office wondering what had happened. Was it lost in the mail ? whats with the lack of contact ? I recommend sending with a tracking note so you know that it gets there . I mean what happens if it gets lost in the mail and you don't find out till 8 weeks later ? all that work down the drain.

whats the best courier to use ?

I am thinking Canada Post with tracking.

I used Canada Post with no problem. I was given a tracking number. Made it there in a couple days just with regular sending. My husband recieved first contact about a month later via mail when sponsorship was approved.

wow nearly a month and a half for the in process part . Mine is at that stage at the moment . not sure how much longer.

A month is normal processing time for the sponsorship approval.

My husband sent out our paperwork on June 16, 2009 (while he was visiting his family in Alberta). Mailed the package to Mississagua via certified Canadian Post and it was received 2 days later according to the tracking#.

Our package sat there for 4 weeks before we got out first update, My husband being the Sponsor was sent a letter stating he had been Approved..As our package was looked at on July 18, 2009 and the decision was made on July 20,2009. He has also been checking the online status every few days just to see if any more updates are available.

Our package was sent to Buffalo, NY (Outland USA process) and within 10 I received a confirmation letter that it had arrived there and has not been assessed yet. We expect that it will not be handled again for a couple of weeks.

I suggest you sent the package out with a tracking #, just for peace of mind sake... The Sponsor will get a confirmation in the mail once a decision has been made on their behalf... For us it took 30 days.
