What can I do while my work permit is being processed

I applied for my work permit on May 2025 and haven’t received a response yet (today is Jan 5th). Given my situation, what steps should I take in the meantime while my work permit is being processed?

Yes I am in Canada and I applied from Canada. I applied for PGWP. I am working as an engineer at a construction company

I finished my highschool from Bangladesh and finished my bachelor’s degree at the University of Alberta. I am currently working in Alberta

So when you applied for PGWP was your study permit valid? If valid and got WP processing letter, you can continue to work until decision is made.
