Hi all , Your advice and your honest opinion will be highly appreciated. I am a 40 year old mother with 2 kids aged 7and 9 years . I have not worked since the past 9 years, but prior to that I was an interior decorator with a work experience of 8 years . I have completed my WES accreditation. I have a degree of 4years in Fine arts (textile design ). I would like to know the following: 1.has anyone been in a similar situation and managed to get the invite . What are my chances? 2. how to increase my points as I have lost a lot due to age and lack of work experience in the past 10 years . 3. Is there any other ways to get the invitation that is a sure shot way . Pls note my husband (43 years ) who is an aircraft engineer is the sole earner however he cannot put in his application for canada as he does'nt have the required transcripts for canadian accreditation.

Unfortunately your chances are very low. Qualifying under Express Entry is close to impossible. The only ways to improve your points

1. Learn French to a high level - both you and your husband
2. Get a job in Canada [work permit based] - both you and your husband

Neither is easy and may be close to impossible as well.

Alternatively, you could look at the various business immigration pathways, but you need significant amounts of money for that AND it's not a passive investment (buying a PR). You have to actually show that you can buy and run a real business in Canada.

Perhaps others may have ideas, but I don't really see a clear pathway to immigration based on what you've told us in your post.

I agree with the advice provided above. Your chances are unfortunately extremely low due to your age and lack of recent work experience. Your occupation is also not on the demand list for any province to the best of my knowledge. I don't think immigrating to Canada is a realistic option for your family. If you want to provide opportunities for your children, then once they are old enough to attend university, you can consider sending them to Canada to study on a study permit.

You should assume the chances of getting a job offer is zero. You should focus on qualifying to immigrate to Canada without a job offer.

Hi everyone, I am 33yrs married with a 1 year one daughter, wife is 31yrs. I have BDS and currently an Oral pathology resident in one of the Teaching hospitals in Nigeria. I have over 3years of work experience in last 10yrs. Wife has a Bsc in Microbiology but had been working in a consultancy firm for community pharmacies.
1. What are our Chances to get invites,? I will he the principal applicant.
Note: I am awaiting my IELTS result and my WES evaluation.

2. Does my wife also need to do WES evaluation and write IELTS?.
Thank you for your feedbacks in anticipation

Based on your profile, you will qualify under the FSW class, but the points you get depends on your IELTS scores.

You can use one of the various CRS calculators to estimate your score. If you can score above 470, you have a strong chance.

And yes, you will get more points if your wife gets her ECA and takes the IELTS. Again, play around with a calculator to see what you get. Here are some calculators"
