My employer is going to sponsor me to come. We are discussing the job contract.
How long the employment period should we put? I know employers must offer the job for at least a year after CIC issues PR to foreign workers. It takes about 4-6 months for CIC to issue PR, but I will be already working since I will have a work permit during the waiting period. If we write for a year, will it give the impression that I will only work for whatever amount of time is left after getting PR in a-year period? If it’s not a good idea to write just a year, what amount of time are we supposed to put on the contract?
