what about processing time?

When do the process really begin? from the time I sent the application or from the time when the embassy started working in he file as when my husband received his AOR? For exemple: let's say that they say a application takes average of 6 months to process.. this is just an exemple. The process begins when?

Processing time starts from the AOR date. So if average times are 6 months, it's from the date the visa office began processing the file.
