Hi All,

i have worked professionally for a handful of big companies in the UK, working it Systems Management / and Web Development for the last 8-9 years. I've been to Canada around 10 times now and each time, i make myself false promises that i will move there! Well i turn 30 next week, and i think i've began the process (well i've started filling out the forms) to apply under the Federal Skilled Workers program.

However, i just have a few concerns. I was working part-time for a company in Dubai from the UK, developing a website on their behalf. The goods being sold on the website were breaching various car manufacturer logos / software. I had no idea of this. This company in Dubai have seem to have disappeared now and am left with a potential criminal record (i attend a 2nd bail date next week) in-regards to copyright infringement and by the looks of things, i may potentially be charged!

Is this likely to hinder my application. Bar this minor issue, i pass the points setup with flying colors, having family in Canada, having my own friends in Canada, fluency in English, education, work experience, etc etc. And since i am an extremely confident person, i don't see why i'd do well in the interview.

My main concern lies with this potential criminal charge sometime in the future.

Is it worth still proceeding with my application or is it a no go due to the above?

What is the timescale nowadays from the application sent to the applicant receiving PR status if successful?

Any responses / comments gratefully appreciated.

Cheers,

Steven
