Seems like a big thing to ask, but if anyone knows any ways to speed up the way to become a PR let me know. I am currently in the USA and want to join the Canadian Military but I have to be a PR to do that. I don't live in Canada yet, would driving as a trucker through it be enough to start the process? (I have a CDL and have a friend who is considering doing the lower 48 to Alaska run with me is why I ask that specific idea)

Can you start the process while living in the USA?

There is no way to speed up the process. Driving a truck through Canada does not qualify you to apply.

You need to go on the IRCC website and see if you have enough points to qualify for PR. As trucker is not considered a skilled job, it is very unlikely you have enough points to qualify right now.

Thanks. I am an Attorney in the US as well but I know that Canada has a separate standard to become an Attorney, which is why I was thinking of going the route of using my CDL. Do Attorneys have extra points do you know?

Also, since English is my primary language since birth do you know if I still have to do language testing?

Lawyer is a skilled job. You need to calculate your points yourself on the website.

Yes, you will need an English test. There are no exceptions.
