It counts in university admission because some program's require 2 Yrs work experience.
Otherwise its no big deal also normally all graduate applicants usually have some work experience these days.

Its all depend upon which course you want to pursue, definately its a plus point if you have work exp in terms of getting admission and VISA as well, even some programs require work exp as a primary criteria. So dont worry, it will be a plus for you if you have work exp.
