So, just got PPR - I'm Polish (so visa exempt), yay! :)

I also got instructions what to do now:
1. Send them a copy of my passport (is a regular photocopy ok, or is a colour copy expected?) (1). Do I need to submit photocopies of pages with entry stamps as well? It says "Please submit one photocopy of the photo page and any pages containing amendments of the passport" and I'm not sure what an 'amendment' is? Also, seen as how they don't mention it, I am assuming I don't need to submit a photopcy of my work permit, American Visa (which is in my old passport), etc?
2. Send them two current PR photos
3. Send them a copy of the letter they sent me (email, really) plus info on any changes. Now, one of the points says "Change in family composition, for example due to adoption or birth of a child, including a child born to your accompanying dependent child" - I am 13 weeks pregnant, and I asked here before if I have to inform them of my pregnancy, got the answer that I don't have to as the baby isn't born yet, and it seems from this point above that I don't have to let them know now either as the baby isn't born yet (he's due in September), but I am wondering if it would be a bad thing if I attached just a short note form us (and maybe our OB?) simply informing them that I am pregnant? It's just that I am worried if I don't tell them, what if there's a problem later? The baby's father is Canadian, so I guess there will be no issue with the baby's citizenship.
4. And finally - they said that if I have an address in Canada (which I do), I can send the passport copy and photos to Ottawa via Xpresspost, adding a self-addressed envelope (so that they can mail COPR to me in it) - but it mentions I need to "purchase a Canada Post shipping label on line at:
http://www.canadapost.ca/personal/tools/cst/intro-e.asp" - what's that? do I need that? Is tracking not offered upon purchase of the envelope?
5. How long does it normally take to get COPR from Ottawa? I will be going for a short trip to the US at the end of March so thought maybe if I'm lucky I could land on the way back, if the COPR came before March 29th...
Very happy for you. Sorry but I do not have many of the answers you are looking for. At this stage I would send them a gold photocopy lol seriously bw is probably good enough or they would specify. No changes to your family yet and shouldn't be more that a week to ten days for COPPR

Looks like you have the most important answers, Sous, thanks! :) They didn't specify if they want colour copies and copies with stamps, but I think I'm gonna send them the copies with stamps (it's only two pages at any rate) - they'll just shred them, I assume, if they don't need them. And I have this nagging feeling I should let them know about the pregnancy, even though it seems they don't really want to know and everyone's telling me not to bother.. But I'm thinking maybe I'll attach a note informing them, and maybe a copy of my OB report - what the hell, I assume it's not going to influence their decision (as this isn't really a real change, for them at any rate!) but might put my mind at ease... and they'll shred it if they don't need it, right?

That was my philosophy. They know how to work a shredder!! lol

Haha exactly! And, I can't imagine letting them know I'm pregnant is going to influence their decision, eh?

I received an email a few hours ago requesting my wife's passport be sent to the embassy. Looks like she'll get her stamp soon. I submitted the application in October. So, it went pretty fast considering what the government's website says about processing times.

We applied for a tourist visa for here 3 times (when I was working overseas, which I have been doing for a decade); always denied. So, finally, some good news.

I always found it a strange concept and not easy to explain to my wife that she could move here but not visit!

No it wont influence your decision but always nice to have it on record that you told them.

That's right - so I just mentioned it to them. I can't imagine it matters but hey, why not! Sent in the passport copy and photos today, to Ottawa, via Xpresspost, so hopefully they'll just put the COPR in the pre-paid envelope I enclosed and mail it right back to me any day now! :)

Warsaw is quick but not Wednesday morning quick. Late next week is my guess and you will not hear anything from Warsaw. We used vfs and were able to track when it began the journey back.

My wife's passport request paper said to send her passport to Moscow.

I am not so worried about how long it will take; the mail service in her country will be the bottle-neck anyway.

I am more concerned about what will happen at the border when she finally lands here given that I will most likely be on the other side of the line out in the lobby.

Do not worry about the border. It may take a little wjile but it will go smoothly. Did you not use vfs global?

Yes; we used vsf global to courier the passport to Moscow.

At the border, I assume it will be similar to when my visa was issued for all the other places I lived and worked: show the visa to the border guard, get a stamp, go on. Pretty simple actually. But perhaps there will be something more planned here?

They take you to the immigration counter, make any addr as changes, order your pr card for you and welcome you to Canada. At the time my wife's English was weak and it was easy even for her.
From the Far East to Moscow and back our passport took 7 days

I am already in Canada; I returned a few months ago.

I doubt there is any way I could be with her at that time given the way borders work.

Or, is there a special officer in charge of such things that I could write to?

I thought about flying to Germany or wherever her connecting flight is in order to enter the country with her at the same time.
