How does less than a month sound? That is what we have seen from warsaw lately. Have you been ordering your GCMS notes? I would as it will tell you greater detail what is happening. You are only in your third month so things seem to be moving quickly. Warsaw has been averaging 6-8 months. The earliest I have seen is four months.

That sounds incredible !
I ordered them once, in them it said that they were started on Feb 2, but they werent even begun by then yet. On feb 23,background changed !
It seems pretty quick for me.
Hoping the documents dont delay it ... i want to go home !!!! Almost spend a year in belarus.

Make sure you keep checking ECAS as well. We found it was more current than mycic or had different updates.

Yeah, I always check both, but no update since November getting a bit worried, the other person who applied to WVO in October already has their background check happening, even though they applied 3 weeks after us Aaand mycic is still down, for me at any rate.

I was told that Canada is the only country I don't need a police certificate from, if I'm applying under spousal sponsorship. But I'm getting different answers from people. Will I be requested by Warsaw to provide a police certificate from there? I have lived a majority of my life there after the age of 18 (although it's literally almost half & half Canada/Poland).

Also, if someone is from a visa exempt country, do they also send in their passports for a visa stamp before getting the PR? In that case, is it possible to go to the embassy in person to receive it faster?

You will always get different answers and even the visa may or may not follow their own rules. Why not just get one and send it in?

I'm not sure about this one. I have lived in Canada for a year and didn't include the police certificate from Canada. They never asked for it. It won't hurt to get one though.

No, visa exempt applicants only send a photocopy of passport (to make sure nothing has changed since the application package was received) and new passport photos (because they're only valid for six months and usually the process is longer than that). I think in both cases you can go to the embassy and get your passport stamped or pick up COPR when it's available.

Finally, after over two long years, a rejection and successful appeal, my wife finally picked up her COPR today in Warsaw and will be joining me in Canada on 24 March. The system does work. YAY!!!
