Found a site with a calculator :)

https://www.sunnet.sunlife.com/buyonline/phi/quoteinfo.asp

I calculated 200$ / month for my self, my wife and my daughter.

I assume I will have to get the private insurance as well since I have been away for over 5 years now.
I missed my renewal last year during June.
Although I must say, that during my visits in Canada in 2012-2014 I used my health card and it was working even though I wasn't living there for over 3 years.

I'll see what they say when we're there.

Hello,

I'm in the same boat with a 15 month old little girl.
Our travel agent mentioned that it's around 2.45$ / day for a child and 2.65$ / day for an adult.
Not sure which company it is since I did not have much time to speak with her more on the subject.
As proof of residency, I imagine it only applies for the adults as long as a birth certificate is shown for the baby.

I'll do some more research and post.

Cheers
I am not sure how it works in Ontario - but I had to provide a sworn statement in front of a commissioner of oaths at the city hall for the proof of residency for my daughter. I had to send this along with her Canadian Passport, and a certified copy of her Canadian Citizenship Certificate.

This is for RAMQ (Quebec) though.

That is most likely because your health card was still valid - there is no way for them to know that you are not residing in Canada or in Ontario unless you notify them (which you are technically supposed to do if you are going to be out of the country for more than 6 months [not sure if this is the same for OHIP, as this is what it is for RAMQ]). Only at this point can they do something about it.

I would recommend that you do get yourself some insurance as well.

Today my husband went back to Canada, after visiting me for one month. Time never flied THAT fast. :/ Also, today is three weeks since we sent our application. Should I add myself to the timeline now, or wait until AOR/SA?

Hey Guys,

is it true that upon landing at Pearson and passing through customs with her AoPR docs, my wife can get her PR card or SIN number done right there at the airport? I'm sure I read somewhere on this forum that certain procedures can be started/done right after landing. Thanks in advance.

Cheers

The immigration officer will stamp her passport, write a number under the stamp, and sign off on her COPR paper - he is the one who will then submit for the PR card, but until it arrives, her COPR paper will work to prove she has permanent resident status. She can get her SIN number at Pearson, but only if the office is still open that day - so it depends on when she arrives. For example, my husband landed on a Sunday and it wasn't open. However we went to Service Canada that week and he got it immediately - only takes 10 mins or so depending on the line up.

The most important thing is once she has the COPR with the immigration officers sign off on it, don't lose that piece of paper. But it works the same as a PR card until the actual card itself arrives - the guy at pearson told my husband it would take a month, but I think reality is different. We just had to cross the border into the States for a couple of days (land border) and returned no problem with just the form and his passport.

Thanks! We land at 5:25 pm, so we'll see if they're still open :)

You have no idea what you are talking about. Please refrain yourself from giving misleading information.

For Polish Nationals you are required to have the long two page form of your birth certificate that is only in Polish and have this translated by a sworn translator. You don't need to have this certified by a notary unless you send a copy of your birth certificate with the original translation. The translation is already sworn; therefore does not need to be notarized.
Polish birth certificates as mandated by the EU have to be represented in all EU languages...as if you move to a different country within the EU for registration purposes it needs to be submitted for social insurance info etc...All new birth certificates in Poland have all languages with numbers corresponding to the main page of the information...this is what we submitted for our case...alongside Birth certificate, Degrees, Marriage etc, actually no translations necessary...so any country if you need a certificate in the EU it will be official with English as a secondary or third language...the thing with Poland is, you have to ask them, if you don't then you will get what you really asked for, a polish copy which exists...

That is very strange as mine was sent to Warsaw and to my understanding Moscow stopped quite a while ago. They do visa's though. Keep us up to date please.

Hi there I have a question about the Polish pice clearance -it's only valud 3 months and i got mine on july 13 but we won't apply until pribably mid august (gotta collect all the documents). Does CIC typically ask for another police clearance as they process the application or is the one submitted upfront ok as long as it's valid at the time of applying? I live in Canada and haven't livrd in Poland since 2014 anyway.

If it's valid by the time they receive the application, you're good. They might request a new copy later, especially if the interview is scheduled.

Ok, thanks!

And if there was no interview, did any of you get asked for another one? Did that delay your application?

Also, a silly question: did you fill in the forms by hand (pen) or on your computers? And if using a computer, did you put any additional information by pen? (e.g. N/A in boxes on the checklist that didn't apply to you, etc)?
