Hi Friends,

I would like to apply canada visting visa for my family (myself + my wife + kind(2.5 years old)) and i have following questions. Can some one advise with latest changes to canadian consulate at New-york.

1. Can I walk-in and submit the application for family at newyork office and when they can return passports in hand?

2. Can I represent for my family alone at newyork office or i need to take entire family while submitting the applications?

3. Can I submit application in person at los angles office and will I get it in hand ? and do i need to take my entire family to submit the application.

I live in Atlanta and had canada visting last year which was expired this March (already visited canada last year). So this would be my second visting visa application.

1. but others are suggesting that we may go for walk in submission and passports will be returned by next day after at the consulate.

2. What would best way to apply visiting visa as I need it urgently.

1. This process is no longer available. Used to be. Isn't any more.
2. Apply online. Online applications receive priority processing.

No.

Read the information on the links that PMM provided. Priority is given to applications submitted online. Applications submitted in person are processed no differently than applications that are mailed into the office. If you submit your application in person you should expect slower processing times than if you submit online. So if you want slower processing times, by all means submit everything in person.

Which will provide faster response for online or mail process LA or NY?

SO u mean to say I cannot get visiting visa within a week ? why this guys changed this process to complicated ?

You can find the processing times for the various VOs here:

I think it's extremely unlikely you will get a visitor visa in a week.

Just Update on this.

Someone in this form , submitted the TRV application in-person at NEw York consulate and received passport with TRV stamped with 7days. However its purely depends on LUCK

So there is a provision to submit the applications and along with passports in-person , but we need to wait for passports back from consulate thru mail.

03/11 - submitted application in person
03/16 - TRV stamped
03/18 - Passports received.

Actually it was typo: I received on 4/18 not 3/18. Took around 39 days
