Waiting for study permit

Hi I’m in Montreal and I got a confirmation for my study permit application but haven’t received the study permit itself.
what are my options?
Should I wait until they’ll send it to me? (Does anyone know waiting time?)
Or can I go to activate it in the border?
(If yes, airport or ground border?)

They will mail your SP to your address. Give it time and i dont think you can get it at POE as Inland applicant who was approved

Any idea how long should it take?
And another thing, if it can’t be done by just going to the border, is leaving Canada and coming back will activate it?

It shouldnt take that long, but why you are desperately need while you have confirmation that you can use as proof of approved permit? Leaving Canada for the sole Purpose of getting printed permit is something i dont want to advise you, especially during pandemic

is he proof of confirmation is good for ‘Service Canada’ in order to register and do SIN number ?

they will neee original SP to issue SIN i guess. But you can call Service Canada see if they can proceed with the confirmation letter or give it time to receive in mail

Your status is TRP-SP Holder

Study permit approval confirmation, not confirmation for the application. The later is just a confirmation you applied, but Approval confirmation note on your account/mail is the effective date of your status. And that will be your validity even of you receive printed SP after a month…

Yea I meant an approval confirmation, that what I’ve received. Ok so the study permit that I’m waiting for is just an official of I understand currently. My new status should be ON upon the approval.
