Waiting for PR CARD - 2015 / 2016

We are talking about the picture you submit when you land, for your physical PR card.

It's nighmare after getting COPR. Getting PR card even longer than getting COPR. CIC is suck, they just focus on handling Syria refugee....

Good morning everyone!

My wife and I submitted our application in late August 2015 and I presume this was still using the old picture format (I don't recall what the specs were)...

Last week (Feb 28) our ECAS changed to DM with no requests for new pictures. We are still awaiting COPR in the mail, but now I am curious if they have the incorrect picture size, even though it wasn't flagged in the system? Will this cause a delay?

By the time you land, all of this mess should be cleared out. You will probably have the new pic requirement sent to you.
You haven't have to go through this long delay.

I wouldn't even say it has much to do with Syria at this point, it just has everything to do with CIC being absolute garbage.

Even if they were "extremely busy" there's no reason why they can't just issue the damn PR card.

They need to axe the entire, *the entire* workforce, all the stupid bureaucracy, everything.
Throw their garbage, POS government union in a landfill, ditch that trash.

Axe it all, hire new, the job can be done by trained gerbils, we already know that much.
Sorry for the exaggeration, the gerbils don't need to be trained.

For anyone who landed prior to January 4th and has had to redo pictures due to CIC being a pile of manure, how long did it take to get your PR card after sending in new pictures?

Hi Folks -

Got our PR Card on March 9th in the mail.

Landed January 19th - Calgary

No request for new pictures.

Ecas was not updated -Regular mail - Canada post.


Good luck to you guys. Hopefully ur wait if over soon.

Everyone knows that they can still leave Canada without PR card and have two options on returning:

1) apply for a one time Travel Document
2) have the PR card couriered to you (I wouldn't trust regular mail) to the location where you are at

or have I missed something?

The CBSA should get a digital photo at POE and COPR data can easily generate a freaking card, they deliberately use crap to keep the unions in business otherwise the process can be automated quickly leading to reduced processing times.

All of CIC is just so useless and terrible that I can't even think about it without feeling embarrassed for Canada.

The fact that applying for a work permit when you're inland doesn't just involve checking a box.
The fact that these morons take more than 2 years to determine that a sponsor isn't dead or on welfare.
The fact that they are so stupid they don't even know if an application package has arrived for a 10 month period.

All these facts add up to a body of incompetence.

With the Liberals in power we'll see plenty of money being dumped down this well.
Doubling their budget can't do much, it's like paying a basket full of hamsters a million dollars to paint your house. Misguided funds.
They just can't do it, they're too garbage.

I don't understand all the fuss regarding the new photo requirements:

In cases where a client reports for the interview without a satisfactory photograph, or other
information is missing, as per R58(1)(a) and (b), the officer may adjourn the interview and
invite the client to return at a later date in order to allow the client to comply with any
outstanding requirements.

IRCC offices are equipped with cameras to retake photographs according to the
specifications in Appendix A, if required. Local procedures may allow for immediate retakes
of photos as part of the examination if all other requirements are met.



So...why can't they just take the new picture at the landing interview, as mentioned in their own enforcement manual?!

Two of my new photos of size 50mm * 70mm have been delivered to the PO Box of the CIC Office in Sydney, NS yesterday (March 14, 2016);

Yes, but a person can expect to be sent inside (Secondary Inspection). This is generally where they can confirm PR status.
