Waiting for PR CARD - 2015 / 2016

Hi,
We have received application/case nos for outland family sponsorship. With this application/case number can I apply for temporary resident visa from India?
I want to take a short visit of 2 months approx to meet my husband in Toronto before finally getting my PR . Is this possible? Plz pls suggest.

at this point, it may be a good idea to call CIC to check on the status of your card. they will be able to tell you if it's been mailed or still being processed, and if it hasn't been mailed they may be able to put in an inquiry for you. also, if it's missing, you'll want to fill out the "solemn declaration" form for the missing card. CIC generally won't accept a solemn declaration if hasn't been 4 or 6 weeks after the PR card was mailed out.

CIC is run by Blizzard. Like 3 days after this post it arrived.

I landed April 6th and received my PR card June 7th.

Did they ask you to submit new pictures? Keep calling until they give you proper answer.

No, they never asked for any photos. When I landed I actually submitted proper size photo as had been requested before. I don`t think that this is the issue. I`ll call them again now, it is always such a long wait on the line

Hubby landed Apr 29th 2016....PR was mailed out 28JUN2016 and he did not get it until the 18th July...we emailed...called..and called and got different answers each time....I would be a pain in their butt....

Just an update for those keeping track of timelines.

My wife landed in person at CIC office in Alberta on April 7th... we received the PR cad around June 24th. It took longer than expected and a number of calls to get some "so-so" information out of the agents.

We sent in the original pictures with the application and knew about the new picture requirement. We were proactive and took new photos, brought them to our landing appointment and the officer re-attached the new ones. The PR card came with no questions.

A time line/update for those waiting on PR cards with photo retakes:

Landed: 27th March 2016
New photos sent upfront: received on 6th April
Called CIC on 20th June for an update and was told they had mailed me a photo retake request in May (never received)
New photos sent *again*: received on 29th June
PR card received: 9th August (Toronto area)

=135 days
