WOW !!!! Time to process the PR Cards has gone down from 105 to 73 days.

Thats some progress. 32 days !!! yayyyyyyyyyy

You will need to submit an application for a permanent resident travel document (PRTD) to the visa application centre (VAC) which serves the country and area you are visiting, once you are outside Canada.

If your return flight to Canada is in less than six weeks and you are concerned with receiving the PRTD in time, please ensure to mark your application “Urgent” and provide your travel dates and flight itinerary when applying.

The PRTD is only valid for one (1) re-entry into Canada. Without a PR card or a PRTD, you will not be able to travel to Canada except by private vehicle.

Learn more about what happens after you apply for a PRTD.

I have seen 73 days once, as shown updated by Feb. 1;

Now the ECAS rolled it back to 105 days updated by Jan. 27...

Maybe something wrong had happened.

Yes, it did say 73 days yesterday.

I spoke to a CIC agent yesterday and she mentioned processing times dropping from 105 days to 73 days so I really hope that this jump back to 105 is a mistake.

By the way, there's a thread about PR card waiting times with a lot of people posting. There is also a link to a spreadsheet so you can see how long other people are waiting and where/when they landed.

Thanks Taddy!! I also landed at Osoyoos, hope we don't get the photo re-submission !!

You were exactly a week after me :)

I called CIC yesterday and the agent was pretty vague but she did say there was "no indication" I'd need to resubmit photos. There seems to be no logic to it but let's hope we're both lucky. Please keep us updated and I will too.

I've booked my flight in May but I'm only leaving for 20 days so prob not enough time for getting travel document, I really hope I can get the card before then.
Don't know how was your experience at Osoyoos but the CBSA or maybe CIC staff there told me all false info when I landed......i.e. they told me

1) I will get the card in two weeks or by the end of January.
2) I can not work before getting the card .
3) When I get the card, I have to go to service BC to apply for SIN then I can work afterwards.

I'm glad this forum exists that I knew the correct info beforehand, when the officer told me these info I was screaming "OMG how did you get this job????" in my mind.

Hello everyone,

My spouse landed on Jan. 17th 2016....and we changed address on Feb. 1st.

Please how do I notify CIC about the address change to send her PR card ?

Thank you !

Yes it has gone back to 105 days :(

i know a few people who have been waiting since Mid September. I really hope it picks up speed and gets faster.

For people that are wanting to get a PRTD, do they have to show up in person ?

IF the application has to be mailed, just thinking they could mail it before they get to the destination, this way they will atleast have the PRTD ready when they get there.

You need to submit your passport for a PRTD.
