Hi. My refugee hearing was held on January 6, 2025. At the end of the hearing, the Board Member stated that she needed more time to review the evidence and that she would issue a written decision.
During the hearing, the Board Member raised concerns about one FIR and an affidavit. I answered all questions clearly, and my lawyer also made detailed submissions for about 30 minutes at the end of the hearing.
I would like to understand what I should expect at this stage. Does a reserved written decision usually indicate a positive or negative outcome?

Assume you mean 2026. A written decision doesn’t mean anything in terms of approval/refusal. Issues raised in the hearing are more of an indication of the result. Speak to your lawyer when it comes to their impression of your hearing.

sorry it was 2026. And my lawyer helped me through follow-up questions and at the end end member give chance to give submission for 30 minutes and we are family of 6 2 parents ages 60+, 2 adults and 2 babies born in Canada. How board member will see this case?

Impossible for anyone but your lawyer to comment on your grounds for asylum. The Canadian children are likely irrelevant to your asylum claim.
