Hi,

our local Multicultural Association center is desperately searching for volunteers for the Syrian refugees that are expected to arrive soon here in NB. I would like to help but am not sure if that could cause any trouble, I`m still waiting for my work permit to arrive. In particular the center is looking for people who can help by providing material support (clothing) and (for example) coming to the center and play with the kids and many more things. Will I be fine, as long as I`m of course not getting paid for my volunteering ?

As it's unlikely that anyone would normally be paid for these activities, the chances are that you would have no issues. If you *could* be paid, don't do it.
