I received this message from Nairobi immigration office regarding my wife's application:

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada. In order to continue processing the application, we require the following:
Ø UCI# and applicant name:

Ø Proof of communication (photos, letters, E-mails, phone bills), between you and your sponsor

Ø Please confirm whether you would be willing to travel to Nairobi for interview should it be required.

I am wondering what to submit to them now. I have already sent them my previous (Sept - Nov. 2013) monthly phone bills showing record of phone communication as proof of continuing communication. Also, my wife doesn't use computers that much and as such we don't have any record of email communications or letters. We haven't had a chance to visit each other since we got married last year and do not have photos to show for that.
Should I just send them the bills of the last two months? Will that be sufficient?

I have called CIC several times, and also read a lot on the forums - there is no 'right' answer, however - do your best to send what you can. In your case, they obviously have some questions so better to send more than less.

If it helps...I sent photos of us together, with our families, meeting our inlaws, doing things over the time we've known each other, receipts for hotels we stayed at, shows we attended, her engagement ring, flight boarding passes and VISA statements, photos of gifts, our wedding guest list, our wedding gift log, bank account statement, Skype chats and call logs, email screenshots, chat screenshots, etc. You're trying to prove to them you have a legitimate relationship. Do you have documentation or papers or receipts, receipts from flights maybe when you did visit? Yes - send the bills but also some more if you can.

Thanks Netkid for your help.
Most of what you said were sent with the application. The only thing i have as evidence/proof of continued communication is a phone bill with her number, no emaills or chats though.

Well that's certainly a good thing you have it!

I made sure to explain on post-it's, why something was the way it was, etc. Now I wish I did more, but no sense crying over spilt milk!

Good luck to you!

My question pertaining to this:
Is the sponsor allowed to submit documents that are being asked from the applicant? Or do you have to send them to the applicant and then s/he can supply them instead?

If you can't provide the documents that the VO asked you.You have to have an explanation letter why you can't send it.

So they have a clue and they can understand your situation.
